Inside/outside

A crisp, boxy new build designed specifically for inside/outside living drove the design of this modern garden in Perranwell, with garden works completed in tandem with the house build. A clear rectilinear geometry inspired by the architecture delineates the different spaces and helps to focus views and vistas.  Matt-grey porcelain paving from Lowarth was chosen throughout to compliment interior finishes and is dark enough to hide potential spills. It’s smooth underfoot too.

Formal pleached Carpinus betulus (hornbeam) structure the garden overhead and further help to define lawns for living and child’s play, from more adult-orientated territory. They also bring welcome formal contrast to the shaggy wooded landscape whilst providing privacy from the cul-de-sac alongside. A hot tub, elevated dining terrace with frameless balustrade and pots from Torc Pots, plus plenty of family friendly plants complete the look. With huge bifold doors stretching across the rear elevation this garden can be enjoyed whether the sun’s out or it’s raining cats and dogs.
